Ecotherapy
In Nature with Animals
Being in a natural environment is increasingly acknowledged to improve health and well-being.
As well as horses, Emma Leckie uses a variety of animals in her work, from dogs and cats to bearded dragons. Animal Assisted Therapy, particularly for young people, enables experiential learning and allows therapeutic connections to be made more easily.
Emma is an Integrative Psychotherapist qualified to Masters level in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Her personal and professional interest is promoting the human/animal bond and working with animals and nature to facilitate therapy.
Emma has worked with young people and adults suffering from anxiety, depression, self-harming, behavioural problems and the effects of bullying, individually and in groups.
Group sessions are run by Emma and one or two volunteers and/or qualified professionals depending on the size and nature of the group.
